Outer Towner (Out-of Towner) is a tribute to the great Ralph Towner, a truly inspirational musician and composer.
The opening reflects an image of a stranger from out of town (outback) approaching from the distance (represented by the 12-string guitar). The main theme is played on a PRS Angelus Custom with answering phrases on a Cordoba Fusion 12 and 12-string acoustic guitar. A fretless bass underpins the delicate nature of the melody and ensemble sections. The closing is played on a Martin D18 as the stranger disappears into the distance.
